FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Prosperity Project to Advance Women’s Economic and Leadership Opportunities through funding from Women and Gender Equality Canada

Toronto, November 1st, 2024 – The Prosperity Project is thrilled to announce it has received funding from Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) in support of The Impact Project, a transformative program that will identify and address critical barriers hindering women’s economic and leadership opportunities. This investment from WAGE is a clear commitment to systemic change, allowing women to break down the barriers that limit their success.

The Impact Project will roll out over the course of approximately three years and is designed to target the unique challenges experienced by underrepresented and marginalized women.

Part of this project includes a series of national roundtable discussions, bringing together community leaders, corporate executives, and gender equity advocates. These roundtables, hosted by The Prosperity Project, will collect insights and develop actionable recommendations tailored for companies in sectors with poor representation of diverse women in the top four levels of leadership. This collaborative approach aims to foster open dialogue, paving the way for a more inclusive workforce.

“This funding from Women and Gender Equality Canada empowers us to drive meaningful change,” says Julie Savard-Shaw, Executive Director of The Prosperity Project. “Through The Impact Project, we’re not just examining the barriers but creating collaborative solutions with the very communities that are too often left out of these conversations.”

The Prosperity Project looks forward to spearheading this impactful initiative, helping to break down barriers and drive systemic change across Canada’s corporate landscape.
