The Impact Project
Driving Gender Equity Across Industries
What is The Impact Project?
The Impact Project is a 33-month initiative funded by the Government of Canada. It seeks to address systemic barriers preventing women, especially those from underrepresented groups, from achieving economic and leadership opportunities. Through collaboration and action, the project is driving equitable change across industries, including IT/Telecom and Energy & Utilities.
IT / Telecom
– Women represent less than 33% of senior leadership roles.
– Black, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQIA+ women make up less than 1% of executives.
– Lack of diversity in leadership is a missed opportunity for growth and innovation.
Energy and Utilities
– Women hold less than 33% of senior leadership positions.
– Representation of women from underrepresented groups is under 1% in executive roles.
– Women’s leadership in utilities has declined since 2020.
– Diverse leadership is critical as the industry transitions to renewable energy and sustainability.
