The Impact Project

Driving Gender Equality Across Industries

What is The Impact Project?

The Impact Project is a 33-month initiative funded by the Government of Canada. It seeks to address barriers preventing women, especially those from underrepresented groups, from achieving economic and leadership opportunities.

Through collaboration and action, the project is driving change across industries, with a focus on the IT & Telecom and Energy & Utilities sectors. The underrepresentation of women in these fields limits the potential for innovative ideas, business growth and industry success.

IT / Telecom

– Women hold less than 33% of senior leadership roles in this sector.

– Black, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQIA+ women make up less than 1% of executive officers and senior managers.

Energy and Utilities

– Women hold less than 31% of senior leadership positions in this sector.

– Only 1% of senior leaders are Black, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+ women, or women with disabilities.

– Women’s representation in leadership in the utilities industry has declined since 2020.
