On May 9, 2024, The Prosperity Project (TPP) started a new tradition. Our sold-out Prosperity Soirée was a night to remember, filled with inspiration, celebration, and a shared commitment to advancing gender equity and prosperity in Canada.
The evening brought together over 100 guests, including community leaders, partners and dedicated supporters of TPP. The atmosphere was charged with excitement and a collective determination to create positive change.
Our distinguished speakers captivated the audience with their powerful messages and unique insights. Elder Whabagoon’s ceremony brought profound wisdom and education on Indigenous culture, setting a reflective and respectful tone for the evening. Dr. Hadiya Rodrique delivered an inspiring keynote on the importance of social justice and gender equality in Canada.
Hon. Anita Anand, President of the Treasury Board, talked about the issue of self-doubt that women often face, even after reaching significant career milestones. She emphasized the importance of surrounding yourself with advocates who will support and challenge you to achieve your full potential.
At the event, we presented our first annual TPP Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations making outstanding contributions to women’s career advancement. The Mentee Award, recognizing the power of mentorship in advancing one’s career, was presented to Jade Legare by the Room Women’s Network. The Impact Award went to one of our Founding Visionaries who consistently goes above and beyond to support TPP’s mission: Kathleen Taylor. The DEI Trailblazer Award was given to 3 Canadian organizations committed to creating inclusive and equitable work environments: Sleep Country, Desjardins, and BMO. Finally, in a moment that brought the crowd to their feet, we presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Pamela Jeffery–TPP’s Founder and Chair Emeritus—, for her visionary leadership and lifelong dedication to uplifting women.
Many thanks to our community, sponsors, and speakers whose unwavering support made this event possible. Special thanks to our Champion Partner, Room Women’s Network, our Ally Sponsors BMO and BGIS, and our Table Sponsors, Desjardins, McCarthy Tetrault, Insurance Bureau of Canada, Sleep Country, KPMG and WSIB. Your commitment to positive change and creating opportunities for women in Canada is truly inspiring.
